You may think this requires a mastery of code, but it doesn't:
I’ll explain in great detail how one expression in combination with your keyframes makes your project easy to work with.
No more copy and pasting code and hoping it will work.
I am mind blown by the possibilities I can
do with the knowledge I gained from completing this course. I love how Sander simplified the expression language into a sentence. Works like a charm. And can't
wait to use all the techniques I learned in my next project!
Great course broken down in small sections. All lessons build on
top of previous ones. It showed me new different way of using
expression that I knew before - really cool method, which I will use in making templates in the future.
I really loved the course. I think it was a game changer for my After Effects workflow. In the past I built some kind of "rig" with tons of
null objects to animate basic properties, but now I have the knowledge to build complex animation systems with sliders and expressions and I am sure that this kind of knowledge will come in
handy for future projects, especially in the data-driven and automated video business. The course was well organized with small and on-point chapters. Some steps are repeated through the
course, but I think it was really necessary to consolidate some concepts. Cherry on top: the recap at the end of every chapter.
I learned a lot about expressions, that I could apply to other projects. In Advanced Motion Methods I think I was more focused on your thoughts about animation, and why you make certain assets move. With Advanced Techniques, I was definitely more focused on how to implement expressions to automate assets. It definitely got me thinking about planning how I wanted certain assets to move, and if it would be worth it to create certain controls for those movements.
Being an AMM alum, and despite Advanced Techniques being a short course, I came out learning a ton! I would say my weakest skill in After Effects is expressions, and I got a ton of that in this course, which I loved. It got me to strengthen that skill a little bit, even though it only revolved around one expression - the linear expression.
